HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN

This picture was taken yesterday afternoon, while I grabbed a few zzz's in my hospital crib.

It's Saturday afternoon now, and I am snuggled in my own crib at HOME- taking a nap of the most solid sleep I have slept in days... so happy to be home.

This morning, I woke up and said "Go home please". The doctors OK'd my request, and as Dad, Mom and I drove away I uttered sweetly from the back seat: "Bye-bye hospital."

It was not really a "fun" week, but we are all glad to see it in our review mirror. And we could not have asked for a smoother surgery and recovery.

Thanks again for loving me, for tracking my progress, and for sending your love and encouragement through cyber space.

I hope to update my blog with pictures of LIFE and JOY again soon.

Day 3 on the 6th floor

Hi everybody.
Thank you for your wonderful notes on my blog- I love hearing from you.

It's Day 3 in the hospital and I am doing OK. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say I'm at about a 5. The bladder spasms have really not been fun... the pain meds keep them from hurting too much, but they jolted my whole body every minute all night, so I have not been able to rest well. The spasms should lessen in the next few days, so I'll have some making up to do in the sleep department.

Thank you again for thinking of me, and asking God to grant me rest and heal me quickly.

SURGERY UPDATE

Hello all.

Thank you for "checking on me" here at the hospital.

It's 4pm on Tuesday and I am sound asleep following my surgery this morning.

(Don't ask how I can type and sleep at the same time... technology is amazing).



Surgery went very smoothly, according to my urologist. Successful on both sides. Hurray.

I woke up briefly after the surgery and asked very nicely and persistently for my mom to "take this off please" (referring to the IV in my hand). She refused. So I went to sleep, and I haven't woken up since. Been resting peacefully for 6 hours. I am currently doped up on lots of pain meds, and I actually have an Epidural in my spine, so I can't feel anything from the waste down. Nice.



Now I am in for 4-5 days of recovery. Please continue to pray for rest and swift healing.



Thank you for holding me and my family up in prayer today, and in the days leading up to this surgery. My parents report that they were remarkably at peace while I was in surgery (for 3 hours!). God is clearly present with us- granting us strength and endurance for this journey & sending His love through all of you.
